Saturday January 25th | OVEB 2025 Planning Meeting @ 12 Noon Please join us on Saturday, January 25 for the first meeting of 2025. This will be a great opportunity to relax and reconnect with old friends and to finalize upcoming club activities. We have secured a private dining room at Bennett's Publical Family Sports Grill. Located on Main Street in the heart of Miamisburg, the restaurant is just three miles west of I-75 exit 44. After our planning session, we will enjoy lunch at Bennett's, where we can order from their regular menu. We need to advise the restaurant of the number of guests in our party, so please RSVP by January 15. Saturday March 23rd | Tour of the Model T Ford Museum, Richmond, IN - 11:00AM We had a great time touring the Model T Ford Club of America Museum in Richmond, Indiana to learn about the history, lore, and skills needed to maintain the car that put the world on wheels. Wednesday March 27th | Rumpke Recycling Center Tour & Lunch - 11:30AM OVEB members learned what happens to our recycling items after Rumpke picks them up during our tour of the Rumpke Recycling Facility at 5535 Vine Street in Cincinnati's St. Bernard neighborhood. The facility serves 4.5 million people and has the capability of processing more than 55 tons of recycling per hour. Pictures of event |
Saturday April 20th | Tour of the Fernald Preserve Visitor Center Exhibits, Harrison, OH We started with a leisurely lunch at the Market Street Grill in Harrison, OH followed by a vist to the Fernald Preserve Visitor Center. The Fernald Preserve is located on the site of the former Feed Materials Production Center, a uranium processing facility that produced high-purity uranium metal products for America's nuclear weapons program. Fernald's mission then changed to environmental remediation. The property's natural features have been restored using native plants and grasses, creating one of the largest man-made wetlands in Ohio. The site's varied and unique habitats are accessible from a 7-mile network of trails. Pictures of event |
Thursday - Saturday May 9th - 11th | Overnight Excursion to Auburn, Indiana On Thursday, May 9th, a number of OVEB members joined together in Auburn Indiana to visit some of the nicest Automobile Museums anywhere. We started off on Thursday at the Early Ford V8 Museum - "Flatheads Forever" - seeing some beautiful examples of the 1932 through 1953 Fords. On Friday morning we visited the Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg Museum where we wandered through the museum's seven main galleries that display the museum's automobile collection. In addition to these galleries, we saw the restored Auburn Automobile Company offices along with technology, art, and design exhibits. After lunch at Mad Anthony's Auburn Tap Room we visited the National Auto & Truck Museum. This museum had a fine collection of cars and trucks from the early 1900s up thru the 1990s. The highlight of the National Auto & Truck Museum is the GM Futurliner #10. This was one of 12 built by GM for the Parade of Progress tour in the 40s and 50s. #10 was donated to the museum in the early 90's and was restored by the museums dedicated volunteers. Sunday June 23rd | Belle of Cincinnati Dixieland Brunch Cruise 30 OVEB members and guests enjoyed a relaxing Sunday brunch cruise on the Belle of Cincinnati riverboat. We had a great meal, entertainment from a Dixieland Jazz Band and splendid scenery along the Ohio River. Pictures of event |
Saturday July 20th | Tour of Ohio Caverns, West Liberty, OH @ 11:00AM At 11:00 AM 14 brave souls ventured into the Ohio Caverns for a spelunking adventure. After the 45 minute tour of the caverns we headed down the road to the nearby Dragonfly Vineyard and Wine Cellar Winery for a wine tasting and lunch. Pictures of event |
Saturday August 10th | Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Stadium Tour We had perfect weather for our visit to Great American Ballpark and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. We'll also enjoyed lunch at the Christian Moerlein House in Cincinnati's The Banks neighborhood. Pictures of event |
Saturday September 21st | Driving Tour to Rabbit Hash KY & Dinsmore Homestead After a delicious lunch at the historic Tousey House Tavern in Burlington, KY, we drove through the winding Kentucky roads to visit the Dinsmore Estate Museum and colorful Rabbit Hash KY. Only four T-Birds joined us on the scenic driving tour through some of the more colorful parts of Northern Kentucky. Pictures of event |
Wednesday - Friday October 2nd - 4th | Overnight Excursion to Lake Erie Wineries in Geneva, OH Twenty OVEB members and guests had a wonderful time exploring four of the many wineries located along Lake Erie near Geneva and Madison, OH. We arrived in the area on Wednesday afternoon in time to enjoy dinner at the Grand River Cellars Winery and Restaurant. On Thursday, we boarded two shuttles that took us to Cask 307 Winery and the to the Ferrante Winery and Ristorante where we had lunch. We then headed to Stonegait Winery and finally to Debonne Vineyards for a very nice dinner. Pictures of event |
Saturday November 23rd | Behringer-Crawford Museum & Devou Park, Covington KY Our outing started with a stop at the Devou Park overlook in Covington, KY where we enjoyed the spectacular view of downtown Cincinnati. We then visited the nearby Behringer-Crawford Museum to celebrate the warmth and spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas. Following our museum visit, we proceeded to Brio's Italian Grille at Newport on the Levee for lunch. Pictures of event |
Saturday December 7th | OVEB Christmas Party - Heritage Pointe Clubhouse, Mason OH Our annual Christmas party this year returned to the Heritage Point Clubhouse in Mason, Ohio. This popular OVEB tradition provided members with a great meal, relaxed conversation and a chance to reflect on our many 2024 activities. The party started at noon and we had a short meeting. President Brad brought to everyone's attention that no one had volunteered to run for a Club Officer position so the current Officers agreed to serve for one more year. All members in attendance helped the club save mailing expenses by bringing $20 for their 2025 OVEB dues. We also collected over 238 pounds of food for the IPM food pantry, exceeding our 2023 donation by 111 pounds. Pictures of event |
Saturday June 15th | The Lincoln and Continental Owners Club 12th Annual Summer Picnic at Lime Rock Farm, Milroy, IN The annual summer picnic for the regional Lincoln and Continental Owners Club included many participating car clubs including: The Lincoln and Continental Owners Club - Hoosier & Southern Ohio Region, The Earlybirds of Hoosierland, The Ohio Valley Early Birds, The Vintage Thunderbird Club of Indiana, The Cadillac & LaSalle Club - Indiana Region, The Classic Car Club of America - Indiana Region, The Professional Car Society of Indiana, The Rolls Royce & Bentley Owners Club - Hoosier/Kentucky Racing Region and The Avanti Owners Association - Indiana Chapter. Tuesday - Sunday August 20th - 25th | CTCI International Convention - Des Moines, Iowa The 2024 CTCI International Convention was held in Des Moines, Iowa from August 20 through August 25, 2024. OVEB Members that attended were Jeff and Gayle and Bill and Gail. The weather was wonderful for the whole week and we saw a wonderful car collection. Bill and Gail even drove their Thunderbird to Iowa and won a Gold Medallion Award in the Concours 1, Non-Original class. Pictures of event |
