Tour of the Fernald Preserve Visitor Center Exhibits, Harrison, OH
We started with a leisurely lunch at the Market Street Grill in Harrison, OH followed by a vist to the Fernald Preserve Visitor Center. The Fernald Preserve is located on the site of the former Feed Materials Production Center, a uranium processing facility that produced high-purity uranium metal products for America's nuclear weapons program. Fernald's mission then changed to environmental remediation. The property's natural features have been restored using native plants and grasses, creating one of the largest man-made wetlands in Ohio. The site's varied and unique habitats are accessible from a 7-mile network of trails.

Overnight Excursion to Auburn, Indiana
On Thursday, May 9th, a number of OVEB members joined together in Auburn Indiana to visit some of the nicest Automobile Museums anywhere.
We started off on Thursday at the Early Ford V8 Museum - "Flatheads Forever" - seeing some beautiful examples of the 1932 through 1953 Fords.
On Friday morning we visited the Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg Museum where we wandered through the museum's seven main galleries that display the museum's automobile collection. In addition to these galleries, we saw the restored Auburn Automobile Company offices along with technology, art, and design exhibits.
After lunch at Mad Anthony's Auburn Tap Room we visited the National Auto & Truck Museum. This museum had a fine collection of cars and trucks from the early 1900s up thru the 1990s.
The highlight of the National Auto & Truck Museum is the GM Futurliner #10. This was one of 12 built by GM for the Parade of Progress tour in the 40s and 50s.
#10 was donated to the museum in the early 90's and was restored by the museums dedicated volunteers.

Behringer-Crawford Museum & Devou Park, Covington KY @ 11AM - Please Note Revised Date
Our day will include a stop at the Devou Park overlook to enjoy a spectacular view of downtown Cincinnati. We will then visit the nearby Behringer-Crawford Museum from 11:00AM - 12:30PM to celebrate the warmth and spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas. No antique Christmas is complete without the huffing and puffing of holiday toy trains. A holiday tradition since 1992, the exhibit features eight O-gauge Lionel model trains circling over 250 feet of track, chug chugging beside thirty moving accessories. Following our museum visit, we will proceed to Brio's Italian Grille at Newport on the Levee for lunch at 1PM.

Please note that this event had originally been scheduled for November 16, but had to be moved because the Behringer-Crawford vintage Christmas displays would not have been open on the earlier date.
